Will a 18x7.5 with a 42mm offset and a 215/45/18 tire fit without rubbing my suspension? I have Eibach Sportlines and Tokiko DSpecs. I am NOT worried if it will rub on my fenders or not because I am building a custom widebody. That is why I am looking at wheels and tires that are so big and wide. Will the mentioned wheels and tires rub my suspension or will I need to use wheel spacers? (and YES I DO know about the wear and tear involved with wheel spacers!!) If I would need spacers then what size spacers will work the best?
you may have a better chance of rubbing since that tire size is too big. you want a 225/40/18 or 215/40/18. if you get either of those you'll have no problem at all with rubbing.
Would it rub even if I got spacers? Where would it rub? I am NOT worried about it rubbing on the fender lips because I am going to be modifying the lips to make the wheels and tires fit if needed.
even if it doesnt rub its gonna throw your speedo and or odometer off and since its a larger tire your gonna be putting more stress on the engine and tranny
how about hitting the strut?
OK.... I just got a REALLY good price quote on the same wheels that I was looking at before but with a 35mm offset instead of a 42mm..... I am trying to go WIDE because I am adding fender flares and I am wanting to fill them up and not just have them there with nothing in them. What tire would you suggest that I use instead of a 215/45/18 on a 18x7.5 with a 35mm offset?
35mm is fine. you need either 215/40/18 or 225/40/18
