OK. Heres the deal.....I went the winter of 03-04 without floormats. Yeah i didnt care much for some reason cuz i was plannin on gettin a new carpet, but i know its still bad for the floor.
Anyways, As the iceberg on my floor melted, it stayed wet,....and by Stay, i mean its still there to this day.
Ive checked underneath the carpet where the wet spot is to make sure the floor was ok, and it looks fine. The wet spot is about the size of a cheeseburger...no, Quarter Pounder (with cheese). And its not underneath the pedals, about right under the steering wheel. Its weird. I think i may be gettin one on the other side too, not sure.
I think it gets worse at times,...like when its raining or something. I dont think its the grommet in the firewall. And im pretty sure other people are having this problem. One of my friends said it might be something to do with the air conditioning ?
Anyways, i just ordered a new Black carpet (have tan) and since im gonna be takin out the old one, i figured i should seal up anywhere u guys might think its leaking from.
go to the car wash, and turn the pressure washer on rinse, then run it full power along the top of your door where the weather stripping is, do this on both doors. After that, check to see if water leaked in. Also, if you have a sunroof, then it could be from that. Its not from the ac, i dont see any possible way it could be.
My friend's LeSabre did this for a few weeks. The backseat floor got this massive puddle. We checked under the car, the boards, etc and we couldn't find a cause. We dried it out and BAM, it never came back. It was strange..
