I picked up 2 seats off Strat81 over the long weekend. I am going to attempt to install these puppies this weekend. I've been diggin through old posts for one where somone put up pics of what they had to grind off the old brackets and a intructional write up. Can anyone find it or the person who posted it, put the pics back up? Alot of the old posts linked to a certain page which couldn't be found... That was happening in the archived search.

i was gonna do the same thing with mine, but i realized they would still sit too high. if we woulda thought about it, i coulda shown u how i did my brackets at the glen, but shoot me an email, and i can send you some pics of how i did mine, they were a pain in the arse

I need help intalling mine 2

The way i plan on doing them, its just running a piece of steel between the 2 bolts for the racing seats thats about 1/4" thick then mount the stock bracket to that. I haven't fiddled with any of it yet till now. But i am about to see what i have to do with my passenger seat to see whats up. Hopfully i can do them like people do for the tenzo's.

That was me that posted a write up a long time ago. Yes the seats sit entirely to high and to far back. I'm 6'1" and that was the case with me. If you really want I can repost the pictures, though I'd honestly look for another route.

Ha ha.... i got my driver side in and now working on passenger side. I was alble to just drill new holes in my stock bracket for mine. Only part i needed was a tab for the passenger side which i just got back from Home depot for. I am 6"2... and my legs are hitting the steering wheel. I think i just need to loose some weight that i put on during the winter to thin my legs up and ass. Then these should @!#$ Rock!

Well I've already had my seats in for awhile, but I forgot to take off the risers so I decided when I took them off I'd take some pictures. Also I though I'd say how I got the Tom Motorsport Seats on the OEM Brackets. Not to hard to do...just gotta have the time and paticence, which at times I didn't have.

1) Got to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy 3 pieces of sheet metal. I used two 6"x18" 16 Gauge for the Rear and one 1.5"x36" 3/16" Thick for the back...WOULD reccomend using a smaller guage for the front unless you have someway to drill through and cut it. Complete PITA if you have to don't. Also you need 8 Bolts 8 Nuts and 8 Lock Washers. I used 9/16 for mine just to make sure that I wasn't going do snap one off.



2) Take the old seats out. Four 13mm nuts hold them on the floor. Driverside unattach the seatbelt sensor.



3) If you want to sit up really high skip this step, which I did at first and kicked myself for.
Next you'll want to take off the risers off the stock bracket. I just did this to the driver's side because the passanger side had more compicated way that they're risen. The side closest to the passanger side was the easiest just simply unscrew. Other two on the other hand were a task. They are VERY securely attached with 4 spot welds on each. I focused on one spot weld with a cutting wheel then when I could took a chissel and prided it off. TAKE YOUR TIME SO YOU DONT BEND THE BRACKET!







4) After the risers are gone now measure from the 2 holes on the seat to attach the metal to the seat. Then measure the stock holes on the bracket to know where to drill to attach to the OEM bracket. Way I did this so I'd know exactly where it was in the car was to place the seat in the car where I wanted it to be with the bracket BACK IN THE CAR and then marked with a pen where the holes lined up. Took it all back off then drilled the holes. Now slide the bolts you got from Home Depot or Lowe's through the holes you just drilled. And attach the metal to the seat. Also cut about an Inch off the side of the seat where the seatbelt goes so it can move upward to be used.



5) Attach the seat to the bracket. Tighten the nuts down tight with the lock washers, so you don't fall out. Then take the whole get up back to the car and attach the bracket back down to the floor. *If its the driver side reattach the seat belt sensor.*





6) Enjoy *job





If you have any questions, bring um to the board someone else might wanna know the same thing. I'm probably not the best at givin directions but I try What counts right!?

Just got done with mine. ... WIsh i had a dremel to remove the risers on the driver side. I got one off with a few dozen quick hits with the hammer. The rear one i almost completly destroyed and bent the @!#$ out of it. But i was able to get it back to working order. Glad its under the seats and cannot see that one. Overall i am pretty happy with them. I just need to loose a good 20-30 lbs off excess weight. I am a big guy.
