Hi!
Just to tell you the way that I lit up my vents not using leds...it may gives ideas...
in fact i simply use dome top light (#194 bulbs).
you can find em at any pep boys or automotive stores.
I bought blue ones and wired em in parallel all along my vents, it works perfect!
I can try to post pics if you want...
Post pics, cause I eventually want to put lights in my vents.
the inhearant problem with that idea is that those lights generate heat, significantly more heat than an LED, also, they are much bigger than most LEDs
Yeah, what's wrong with LEDs?

umm nothing wrong with leds, but I didn't feeling like putting resistors and all... with 194 bulbs, no need for em
plus I only wanted to share an other way of lighting vents
I know they generate heat, but isn't a big deal... I had some in ma cavy and never had a single problem with heat, and sometimes I had em turned on for a long time...
For em being bigger, I agree... but I like em nonetheless.
thx
I had the same setup in my old cav but I used led's. It looks pretty cool at night with the ambient glow coming out of them.
As for needing resistors, just buy ones that have them built in. With the ones I used, all I had to do the usual ground/power wires and hook them up to a switch. No matter what you use though,it looks really cool with the glow coming out of the vents. Nice cheap mod to do

all kinds of leds and such.
If you wire the LEDs correctly you dont need resistors.

Well, you should, just a little one tho. (My LEDs were rated 2.5, guess that changes it, huh
