my gf has a 98 Grand Am and her window is off track, can anyone point me in the direction on how to fix it...thanks in advance
well remove the trim panel, should have a screw in the reflector one beneath the handle (where ya grab the door to close it)
remove the mirror cover, remove the window switch panle should be a screw in there
if it did pop out of track just take a look at the front and rear window channels, it had to pop out for a reason, if it is a power window look at the way the regulator is working, if anything is bent, same goes for a manuel regulator
also look at the mounting tabs to the glass for some reason the older n-bodies and gm`s the mounting tabs did not want to bond to teh glass and broke off the glass
sorry, you should see 2 10mm bolts on the front and rear tracks the rear channel hooks into the door frame so ya need to raise up the glass and push up on it and should come out, don`t pry on it it is plastic and will break
inspect the channles for anything , inspect the glass mounting tabs the door frame weather stripping
there should be slight adjustment in the front and rear channels and the mounting tabs
hope that helps
can i haz bondo
