i made myself a set of guages in photoshop but I have no clue how to go about printing the things.
What's the best stuff to print them on?
If anything get some good quality photo paper...but not too thick though, you don't want your needles getting stuck on it.
Go to a printing place and get them to print it for you.
Thanks Vince, I'll more than likely screw it up anyway and go to BlackCat to get em done but I thought it was worth a try.
Any idea if the light will get through if I use photo paper? I can't see how it would but I've never done it before...
Well, I went to staples and had them print it on the poster printer(very good quality). It came out great! I need to get it cut and installed still but for only 6 bucks and a few minutes in photoshop, I'm happy. I'll post a pic when I get it ready.

backlit stock. Atleast thats what I used. Whitefaced gauge during the day, backlit green with Z24 logos at night.
The 2 following pics are before I trimmed them to fit the cluster. Ah the wonders of working at a large format digital print company.
That looks great man, But i saw you do it a while back
.
Ya its been in my car for about 2 years. Ill prob sell it once I get either the Grand Am cluster to work or if it doesnt work Im going with Stewart Warner gauges.
keep us updated on the cluster swap.
That's very cool. But my image I used needs to be visible in day and night. But I am tempted to get tem done with the proper stuff now...
Anyone have a template for the sunfire gauge face? or have some leads where i can start looking?

Well, I got them printed but not installed yet. Anyway here is the Photshop image.
hey dan(blackwidowz24) do you got the photoshop image for the sunfire dash?
Nope. I only have these from my Cavalier. If anyone can scan them in at 300DPI, I can do any guages you want.

I followed the advice I got in this topic and had it printed at Staples, they have very high quality printers.
As for the other part, you need 3 layers to correctly make a set of guages.
Front Layer- Graphics/Numbers
Middle Layer- Blackout Layer, keeps light on only the numbers and not ramdom areas of the guage
Back layer- Color Layer, selects what color your numbers will light up.
Then you need to have the 3 layers put together. They have to be perfectly aligned to get the right lighting through them. Then have them laminated together or attached another way.
