what front seats fit our cars? im talking oem like eclipse seats into a cavalier for example. does anyone make universal brackets to make other cars seats fit into ours? thanks sorry if a repost but didnt come up with anything with a search
Hey deltron3030,
I don't know about anyone manufacturing seat brackets or seat tracks for our cars to adapt other seats, but I know that a few people here (can't remember who they were though...sorry) that have placed in other GM seats in Cavaliers and sunfires. Examples are the late model F bodys and Grandams.
Seems like you have a Camaro...why don't you give it a try and see if the Camaro seat fits in there...many say that it's a very good fit....actually Transam seats are supposedly more comfortable...keep me posted...I'm going to do this soon myself as well.
Hope this helps.
I have been considering the same thing. From what I can see the spacing between the seat tracks is the most important thing, because the legs are riveted to the sliding tracks. Looks to me like all you have to do is drill out the rivets holding the legs to the seat tracks and bolt them to the new seat using 1/4" bolts Let us know what you figure out. Also, check the headroom with the new seat. I could see that being a problem on seats with a lot of padding.
God bless America.
Just checked www.car-part.com and Olds Alero seats are a little cheaper than Grand Am seats. I test drove an Alero before I bought my Cavalier and the seats were real nice. My guess is that any GM car with a low roofline will work as long as you use your Cavalier legs from the old seats. All I'm going to do is cover the seat with an Acrylamb cover or similar so all I'm getting is the drivers seat. When I sell the car someone will get the hardly used Cavalier seat.
God bless America.
