Hey all, thanks for all the help so far slowly getting the ideas together for what I would like to accomplish with my car. Here's another handful and I'm sure I'll have many more for you all down the road.
I have a silver 03 sunfire, I'm tentatively thinking about eventually getting a carbon fiber hood put on and some of the black with chrome outline rims. With this in mind I'm thinking that I'd like to do black with silver highlights on the interior.
But what I'm really wondering is, would black and white seats go with this black/silver setup? So far from what I've saw black and silver seats don't have the best look to them.
If I do have a mostly black with silver highlight interior, would a chrome shifter knob match? Or would the majority think that sticking with a black or white knob be a better idea.
How big a job is getting a new carpet? I know you can order them from a few places online, and from just taking a quick glance at the car you'd have to take out the front/back seats and center console(?). Would it be a lot safe to just have a shop do it up?
Lastly, I'm not planning on any kids anytime soon, so how would one go about removing those safety seat clips in the back window area? Is there somewhere online that a person could just order one?
That'll be it for now, yet again, I appreciate any help.
First of all you can't do a black and silver interior cause thats what im doin
but if u still decide to...

You should be shot if you need to get your carpet replaced by a shop (sorry to anyone that had a shop replace their carpet). You have to take out the:
little cover plates by center console --- u'll know what I mean when you go look - just a couple bolts
front seats --- easy-just 4 bolts
the center console --- easy-about 3 bolts and just take your time when taking it out or you'll break stuff
the back seat --- super easy-take a screwdriver and find the clips underneath the seat-one on each side-put the screwdriver down there until you get it to set right, push and the clips unclip - it'll make more sense if u go look at the clips
Then all you have to do is pull the carpet up and put the new stuff back in. For my car I used the stock graphite color so it was a perfect match of course.

You need to go and take your car apart and see what all there is. After you take off the rear deck, take the clips off by unbolting them. You will then have holes in the rear deck cover that you will prolly want to get it all recovered or fiberglass it.

hehe I'm afraid for the moment I'll have to stick with my plans of black/silver. Not sure which other way to go with a silver car. Although way down the road I'm thinking maybe a really dark forest green so at that time things would get switched around.
Thanks a lot for the reply.
Ur welcome.
I'm just messin with u not being able to do black and silver. Just please when you do it, don't just spray the stock texture-unless u really really really like the look and have actually seen it before.
Also, make sure you clean, clean again, and clean some more before you paint the pieces. I have seen way to many times people that haven't cleaned good enough and it all chips off and looks horrible.

Yeah, from everything I've read so far on the painting of the interior I'm thinking that I'll be putting a whole lot of time and effort into it when I get around to it. Plus I was planning on check out the junkyard for some cheap door panels to practice on first.
I really like the smooth look when the dash is either fiberglassed or filled properly, but would having it that shiny and black get to much reflection in the summer time?
