Howdy. I searched for about a half hour with no success so I decided to post this question.
My g/f's 00 Sunfire SE 4-door has only one crappy dome light to see in at night. She complains constantly that she can't find things at night in her car, so I was wondering if there were fairly simple ways that I could add some more lighting to it. My first idea was to find a rear view mirror that has the map lights in it.
I would want them to come on with the dome light if possible. Also, if a floor lighting option is available or a better/easier solution, I'm game for that as well.

To have it lighting up at the same time as the dome light it's easy, just wire the mirror with the map lights to the dome light circuit, the wiring is behind the left a-pillar (probably the same thing for you). Remove the fuse if you want to cut both of the wires at the same time or you'll blow the fuse... cut the dome light wires where it's the best to join the wires of the mirror splice, put some electrical tape, hide the mirror wiring and replace everything. It will light up with the dome light and the button to open it anytime will still work...
And for floor lighting, just get some white or clear neon tubes under the seats and dash.
but where would it be possible to get the actual lighted mirror?

My 2000 model z24 had one. Jacob's s10 came with one too........but we've already sold them. Check your local salvage yard.
crazycavgirl's right check the wreckers yard there are some that let you go back and grab your own stuff check j-bodys ,f-bodys (trans am- camaros) gran ams etc theres so many even vans. Some vans have the mirrors with the lights...
