Sparco wheel + horn....question......
Tuesday, December 27, 2005 6:55 PM
Ive had my Sparco wheel for some time now, for the life of me, i cannot figure out how to get the horn working, and wire the horn to the two buttons on the wheel.

If i hook up the one wire and run it straight down the steering column, and to the horn, it works, but gets twisted around in the steering column.

I made a post months ago about this topic, but never got any help from it. I've also searched recently, and came up with nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, i have the spiral spring out, i tried that, but didnt get anything.

Ide like to stay away from random buttons around the cabin, and get my wheel working.

i have the same issue for almost 2 years. when i try mine, as soon as the wire goes in where the spring used to be to the horn, it stays on constant. i ended up getting a wolf whistle(lol) and hooking it up to a push button switch. id still like to fix my stock horn though.

Really a pretty easy thing to wire up. Not sure how much this picture will help as I forgot my new Momo horn button is different looking then the normal circular drop in style. Stil the same wiring though, a positive & negative.

Cut the spring off your stock horn, as well as the metal grounding clip. Connect both red wires on the spring to the positive lead off your new horn button. Connect the grounding clip to the negative lead of your new horn button.

See how easy the wiring is

Also forgot to mention, make sure no contacts on the postive wire are exposed at all, or that will obviously result in the horn being on constant as some mentioned above. Or having the ground wired wrong also will lol. Just wire as shown/described, put the spring into the coulmn, & the grounding clip into the hole on the right side of the hub.

Ah, but in most states a functioning horn is required to pass inspection

I have AIM but it's a rare occasion Im online long enough to be on there. But it's trm95z.

If you have the "drop in" style button, the positive that you connect the spring wires to is the one on the back of the button, with the grounding clip going to connector on the metal ring the button sits in.
