I searched...so before you give me a hard time about that, but no one exactually put out how to do it....They just kinda beat around the bush. Please help me out. This is for an 04' Cavalier.

theres a pin in the back looks kinda like a staple.. take a small flat head screwdriver and pry it out and then pull the knob off..
There is a "c" clip on the front of it towards the dash. Get a flat head screw driver and pull it out. That should do it.
nice^ i was lookin how to do that as well...what about auto shift knobs, push button shifters like on my 00 Z24...where can i find some decent ones?

i had one from pep boys for a while..
silver lookin dildo til i chopped the shifter down in size and added a boot
im thinkin of convertin it to a manual knob tho..
for the C clip i used one of those small hobby screw drivers..
like the kind for the glasses..but a flat head and just popped it out...

Sorry, but I don't have that type of money. All i want to do is take off the center counsel so I can paint it, but the knob has to come off first.

did you not read the replies you got? you were told how to do it. just pull the pin out of the front of it and pull the knob off.

after the C clip is off
just tug you weak lil mofo...
once the c clip is out u dont even have to tug, it just comes right off.

take a flat head screw driver and put it between the clip and knob and just pry it out. it should pop right out, then just pull it off
i know but maybe it might click sometime.
i think it might be something different though. i thought i remember reading something that wild weasel said that not all the knobs have the clip in them

you don't need the knob off to remove the center console....
