I have a '99 Cavalier Z24, and I've been thinking about doing a Sunfire interior swap. I've done a lot of searching, and I know that you have to swap the door panels & everything plus the steel frame support. I do have a couple questions though.
1. I'm looking at a '99 Sunfire interior right now, but I really like the top dash pad of the '03-05 Sunfire with the newer circle vents. From pictures, it looks like the pre-'03 Sunfires and the '03-05 Sunfires have the same door panels and lower dash sections. From what I can tell, only the top dash pad & rear view mirror panels are different. Am I correct? Because I'm thinking about buying the '99 interior & then buying an '03-05 top dash pad when I can find one. Can these be combined?
2. If I would do the Sunfire swap, will my '99 Z24 cluster fit into the Sunfire dash pad? If it won't fit, what are my options for swapping in a Sunfire cluster that will fit without having any problems? Or will I have problems no matter what since my stock cluster stores my mileage info?
3. Will I still be able to use my stock '99 CD player & HVAC controls? I think I should be OK because the '99 Sunfire lower dash still has the HVAC on top & CD player on the bottom right? Is the '99 Sunfire bezel the same shape as the '99 Cav?
Anybody know the answers to any of these q's? Sorry to seem in a rush, but that Sunfire interior isn't gonna be available for sale much longer.
you'll also need the inner heating ducting, its a little different in shape, the 99 sunfire deck is on top of the hvac, not below like the cavi. As for the cluster, im not sure, but i do believe it will fit, but im not sure about it
