My sisters 2001 Cavalier Z24 has been having a problem with the temp and fuel gauges not responding for about 2 months. She has taken it to 2 different garages to try and get it fixed with no help whatsoever. Does anyone have an idea what might be the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The car has about 32,000 miles on it and was hit by a drunk driver back in March 2005 on the rear passenger side. It was fixed and returned in May of 05. I don't know if this might be a cause for the problem.

Ok. You got a few different items it could be.
1. Coolant Temp Sensor
2. Fuel level sending unit (in tank)
3. Instument cluster
