holy shat its @!#$in hard to sand down a door panel in a 01 cav to make it smooth what types of sand paper(grit) have you guys used to get it there. I am using 80grit to start but @!#$ man its taking a long time, lol any help would be appreciated, I know if I search I would find it, but its easier just asking again on a new topic
Try an electric detail sander, 80 grit to start and work your way to 600 grit. I myself perfer wetsanding.
Do that and then primer the hell out of it with some 2k primer out of a gun and then wet sand it till its smooth.
...or you can use razor blades and scrape it, then sand it, use high build primer, sand again and primer and paint. it would save alot of time, and it would come out looking like a shiny toy.
i find anytime i'm sanding and getting no where i drop a grit so lets say your at 80 i'd go down to 40 grit and use a block so your hands don't get cut up and sore i assume your doing this at home so 2k primer is hard to use unless you have a air com, and a gun. i used can primer scratch & filler. iv'e never seen 2k high build primer in a can i wish there was! save ya sanding alot more . try and sand it as smooth as possable. the first job reflects on the finshed job

after getting the bumpy material on the door smooth do i primer it then wet sand primer with higher grit till smooth and repeat steps through painting and clear coating then buff in end?
how many times does this same question really need to be asked??
