Wetsanding

is there a certain process to wetsanding. ive got my dash mostly smoothed out and ready for paint i jsut want to put some high build primer on it and wetsand in between coats of paint. also is there a certain type of sandpaper to use??thanks

I'm not sure if theres really a certain process to wetsanding. I personally either use a hose or sponge for the water and sand away in one direction.
As far as the type of paper, its specially made for wetsanding. It's black and it holds up in water. I would use quite a high grit between the paint layers like 1000 or in that area.

thanks. i should be able to get the sandpaper from my auto refinisher i have in my town right. and how much does a sheet usually cost??

also. what kind of clear coat do you use. like nambrand wise. or will any automotive touch up paint (clearcoat) im a spray paint type can work???

Ya you should be able to. I got mine for 45 cents a half sheet.

I've heard that just clear from a rattle can works fine. I would personally make sure it wasn't a really cheap brand so i didn't run the risk of it turnin a yellowish color or anything.

thanks. and ONE more question. once done with everyting and everything is clearcoated should i cut and buff. or will it already look "fiberglassed" and glossy

assuming you sand well enough, it should be fine without.
