is there any way i can put a manual shift nob on my automatic car. i hate the look of all the automatic shift nobs. not to many designs. if so how would i go about doing this
yeah convert your auto to stick like i did
i just did this recently
very simple
just put the boot
screw on the knob
thats all...its gonna be kinda loose...just press down
thats all..
i like it
SNDSGOOD has it done..his looks better
im thinkin you can disable the stupid thing where you have to press the brakes. i know i did it on accident when i put my auto shift nob on. i put it on to far and it stoped working. so could i disable that and then drill and tap my manual nob for a set screw to keep it on there??
Wojo...yes this can be done...i did it just bought one that screwed on...so i placed it all the what down then screwed it in...but two things
#1- i have yet to perfect it...it still wiggles and it annoys me...but i havent had time to really work on it to perfectin i will this summer
#2- Me and the guy at the DMV had a chat while my car was getting inspected turns out...removing the "break thingy" yea illegal...so it took some convincing to prove that i have NO kids in the Car ever..(which is true) and I am the only one that EVER drives this vehical....this way no one gets hurt u know?....i just want to shoot u the facts casue id hate for someone's little sister or brother to get hurt....
Goodluck!
same here the only people that drive in the vehicle with me is my GF and my littl brother. and its not nececarily a break. its just a stopper that keeps the shifter from shifting till your foot is on the break. but yeah. i see where it can be dangerouse. i never take my vehicle to get inspected because i live in a state that doesnt require it. thank god. ive prolly got a ton of illegal stuff on my car but i dont care. my dads a cop and hasnt said anything so oh well. but thanks. i just need to find a console piece for a 95-99 that is for a manual. then i can make it look nice. for now my nob is gonna be from a stock ZX2 hadle. still will look good. jut gotta finish my dash for the gauges. but thanks for your 2 cents.
I have a Nokya brand shift knob that looks just like a Manual knob, but has an internal spring and collar that locks onto the shifter. The button is still usable and it doesn't rattle or spin like just putting a manual knob on.
I got it from www.SportCompactOnly.com if you want to contact them and try it. I really like mine and its all billet aluminum in Gunmetal grey (I might get a pollished one sometime though).

does it get old hearing how great your interior is?
"Sndsgood" do u know where that can be purchased cheaper the site i found said $110...seems a little steap for a knob .....also how does it secure?
Contact the guys at Sport Compact Only for one...shouldn't be more than $40 or so...
You can even chat live with them over their website. Ask for a Nokya shift knob for Automatics.
