Door Speaker Trim/Paint - Gauging Interest, etc.

Once I installed my In-Dash Sirus radio (see other thread) I needed to trim out the doors a little bit to help tie it all together...

So I templated the oval shape of the stock door speaker grille and designed this trim ring that attaches with 6 allen screws. I'll probably change the screws around the Sirius to black as well...

Due to the fact that the speaker grill is kinda tough to mask for painting due to its round shape and the little "trench" around it, this mod covers any slight overspray perfectly. I have been wanting to paint these black forever.

Anyway, long story short, this and the trim around the radio will likely end up as silver brushed aluminum, we'll have to see how that looks when it gets here.

If I can get 8-10 people interested in these, I can run a batch of them.

Thanks for looking!

Steve

Thanks, although upon closer inspection IN the car, I may change them to black...

id take a set 100% for sure IF... You can make it like that but as a solid cf peice with the ring. That way i can cut a 6" hole for my speakers to fit in .

Yeah that wouldn't look too bad...
It would have to still be allen-screwed in though, because the double-stick tape only works in certain situations. And now that you mention CF, I think it may look cool to redo my trim ring in it...

So many options, so little time and cash...

a couple accents here and there look goof, but IMO tiny trim all over the place looks gaudy. I have never seen you mold a shape out of carbon, only cut pre-made sheets to fit certain places, but if you can mold carbon you should start making full carbon pieces.. it would look 100x better.
