Door Fabric

How can I get the fabric inserts on the doors out and back in the same way they were? It would be easy if they were pop outs or screwed in. But the pegs in the back of the door are melted to the plastic. So how can I get them out and put them back in the way they were? Also is there a way to seperate the door at the seems through the middle of the door?

ok i did mine by cutting the plastic welds off with a utility knife from the top and just taking the top of the plasic that holds it on. then when you have the fabric torn off you have to sand the cushion left over crap off. I did my door panels in vynil so thats the path i took. and i used glue to attach the vynil to the bare panel. when it was time to put it back in i bought really small screws about half an inch long and put them from the back of the panel to the door. BE VERY PATIENT IF THIS IS ATTEMPTED BECAUSE IF YOU ARENT THEN YOU WILL BE VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME.
THIS TOOK ME A GOOD 2 WEEKS OF OFF AND ON WORKING ON IT.

i used a heat gun to melt the tabs enough to pull apart, when i put it back together you just reheat the same tabs and melt them together, works pretty good just be cautious, like if you were welding a panel in. go to diffrent spots dont do one after the other or the plastic may get to hot and warp on you.

hey kurt did you vinyl over top of the fabric or did you strip it? dunno how vinyl on fabric would work out. i did something to this effect in my 2nd gen eclipse but i glued fabric over top of the old. and as for the melted pegs i just cut them like said above and used hot glue(which didnt hold up as i expected but superglue was a little better, tiny screws and glue together should keep everything intact

i stripped the fabric and then sanded the panel smooth from all the glue that was holding the fabric on

I have a 1995 cavy and I want to recover the insert near the door handle. I did not see any plastic tabs or anyhting of that sort. It looks like it is just a off part that the carpet goes on.
