I just got a new shifter boot from aplusperformance and was wondering the best way to put it on. I imagine using some type of adhesive.......anyone got the shifter boot and e-brake boot from aplus? how do you like them?
Your shifter boot connects where you old one is, so remove the center consoul.
yes, i know WHERE it goes and you don't have to remove the console. i was just looking for suggestions from anyone who has replaced there stock one with the aplus one.thx anyway.
if you know then, why do you think you need glue? Look on how your stock one is connected.
you can use any sort of strong adhesive...ie. no elmers glue
i actually used hot glue for my past 2 boots and had no problem whatsoever.
i also just got a shift boot from aplus for my B&M...looks wonderful, fit great, but in 1st and 2nd it was rubbing on the retainer and now the boot is starting to rip
its only been in for a week or 2

It's Ok TRex. He doesn't have a manual trans so he has no clue. Unless you count the gutted spare parts car.
I just ignore him. He's just trying to fill out his quota. One d**k per thread. Just kidding.

Well isnt you info way old. Obviously i know nothing between doing the 3.8 swap and a manny swap in 2 other fires.
I kinda wished they made one for 95-99 'Fires with a manual, short throw or not, mine's got a rip that you cant see, but a shorter would be somewhat nice, maybe Black instead of the drak gray Pontiac interior too.
Yeah I would love a new boot for my 99. Mine had a nasty cigarette burn on the boot when i bought the car and now I have the b&m so it wouldnt hurt for it to be a little shorter also.
