D@$# HAVC lights

Alright guys I need some help with my HVAC lights. I was going to attempt to switch my lights to green leds and I couldn't get the bulb out and I went to turn the lights on and they didn't turn on!? So i wiggled the wire a little bit and it flickered on and off and then after a while they wouldn't turn on at all?! So if anybody could help me out I would really appreciate it! Thanks.

take them out and flip them around and reinstall.

When I did mine I couldn't get them out either, it was about 18 degrees f outside and I just installed underglows so my hands were pretty numb... anyhow I tried twisting them out with my teeth, and it shattered. So what I did was just cut the wires and soldered the new red lights on then used hot glue to keep them in place. 9 months and still no problem. Hope that is some help.

Hold the bulbs in a towel, then use needlenose pliers to break the bulbs. The towel will catch most of the glass. Then use the pliers to pull the bulbs out by the filaments. Insert LEDs. If the LED doesn't work, flip it around as drake said. Let us know how that turns out.

Why does everyone like breaking things!? You don't have to break them. I believe the LEDs are different in a <02 model sunfire but if it's just that little gray box that twists onto the contacts. Check your connection - they aren't keyed so try flipping like Drake suggested, then make sure you push really hard (sounds stupid but.. mine were a REAL tight fit). Then make sure you install them back and twist about a lil more than an 1/8 of a turn.... On my sunfire, 2004, if you use a 1/16 allen wrench you can pop the LED out from the rear (because it's not one those cavy ones i've seen in pics that is attached to a wire. Hope this made sense.

I believe so...

I got mine from superbrightleds.com i believe is the URL. Great place - Love the RED LEDs.. deep red, but pretty bright right out package. Just gotta sand them and put some reflective surface behind them make them really glow, WORD!

What are the LED bulb size numbers for the HVAC, the gauge cluster, and the shift indicators?

HVAC = 74
Cluster = 194

Don't know about the shifter.
