I know this is probably a stupid question, but my seats are old, stained, faded, and torn. I can pick up a couple of seats out of an Impreza WRX for a good price. How do I know if I can install these in my car with minimal modification?
Thanks for any help, and sorry for the stupid question.
Just gotta make sure they fit width-wise, then just bolt them to the floor if they come with brackets.
That's what I was thinking, but i'm too afraid to not ask and then end up with two seats that I have no use for. I believe they come with the brackets, but i'll double check before I buy them.
Thanks again.
I know how ya feel man, I do the same thing.
so lance are you saying just drill new holes and olt the seats in using the stock wrx brackets? cuz i found some sweet tegra seats for $35 for the pair, they will fit width wise, but i wasnt able to mount our brackets to those seats. so i can basically just drill some holes where i need em?
Yup, pretty sure. Unless someone corrects me.
i gotta get some pictures of them, but the proper way to do this is to make a bracket that mounts to the floor, and gives you a place to mount the seat to, so you are using the stock mounting points. not hard, just gotta make sure to measure twice
sorry, i forgot to add that if you search for seat brackets you will find the how too. and i lost my edit button, gotta pay for another year of premium....
I was thinking he meant to drill the brackets so they slip over the factory mounting studs. That's likely what I'll do when I put the ITR seats in my ride. Weld up the holes, reinforce the brackets with some flat stock, and drill for the right length and width.
I've got a a pair of wrx seats i planned on butting in my car. I ran into 2 problems.
1. On the passenger seat there is a "bulge"( like i little metal pan ) that gets in your way. And I still have to figure out how to work aound it.
2. I couldn't find any posible way to use the factory wrx sliders and once you drill the rivits our to remove them you are not let with much material to make new mounting points.
oh and the seats are still chilling in my basement next to me after a little under one year.
