so after 5 months of having it sit on my shelf i've decided to put my new window motor in (driver's window on a 2001 cav sedan). tried dremeling the rivets. no luck. ahhh i think i'm just gonna go and pay the hundreds of dollars to get it put in for me. great lets hope it doesn't rain anymore. any help would be great. really thought after reading all the threads that i could do this. dremeling and drilling not working.
um. yea tried to put my new window motor in and no luck. whatever i could manage to do to the rivets was not enough and i hard a lot of trouble figuring how to put it in. so now i must resort to either going to the garage finally or having someone who has done this put it in for me and me pay them.

if there isnt a small hole in the middle (like the pin didnt pull all the way through), you have to punch that out first
And you need to buy a rivet gun to install it again.
you should....i just shoves some small bols in with locking washers and nuts...was a pita when i did it cause it was like -20 out and not much better in my garage
why would i want to rivet it again? that would just make it harder to replace it when it fails.
i used nuts bolts and locking washers
a locking washer for each side
because i could not find rivets massive enough to work
and @!#$in christ it takes forever to drill those beasts out
