k well when i turn the heat on, heat comes out of the vents but the fan does not work. Would the problem more likely be the fan motor or the switch. I've also heard j's have problems with the HVAC blower resistor. What would be the best way of determining exactly what the problem is? Thanks for the help
Peace
If its the resistor, usually one speed will fail. If its not coming on at all, its either the fan or the control unit.
I know on mine the first 2 speeds dont work.. but the 2 highest speeds for the fan work fine.. Someone told me there is a relay or something that is known for going out.. i just havent thought it was a problem yet to fix. So that maybe ur problem, have u tried all the fan speeds?
^ yup same thing as me last year...
Under the passenger side of the dash, there is a black unit that holds the sensor (computer chip type deal). It's as simple as disconnecting the old, and plugging in the new). I just went to the junkers and got one from another car.
There are 3 7mm (i think 7mm at least) bolts that hold the round black housing unit in place. It's a tight squeeze to get your hand and wrench in there.
Ya i did try all the speeds....like i said none of them work at all. So i guess its not the resistor. What would be the best way to determine whether it is the switch or the fan motor? Thanks.
Naybody have n e ideas in how to figurew out whether it is the swithc or the fan?? hoping to get this done before the weekend. Peace

he just told you what it was.
Thanks for your response bornpro, but those insturctions are for changing the resistor. And since all the speeds on my fan don't work we have came to the conclusion that it wasn't the resistor but the fan or the switch. So once again my question now is what is the best way to determine whether it is the fan or the switch??
p.s. Ppl should only post when they have an answer to the question or good information. Other posts flood up the forum with unnecessary inormation.

hahahahah nice. Thanks.....but yo i dnt wanna replace both partrs if only one is defective. There HAS to be a way to figure out whether it is the switch or the motor. Sick Body kit CavieFreak. And if anyone else has any insight into it. Please post. Sucks up here in canada right now with no heat in the cavy.
