I am just wanting everyone to post pics (daytime and nighttime) of there gauges that they have had done by Blackcatcustoms. I am thinking about having them do some for me but I am wanting to see how good the lighting is on them after they get done working there magic.
Im lookin to do some guage moding, can you give me a link or somethin to these people?

Alex is an AWESOME guy and does excellent work. if you have any problems with anything just call him and he'll work everything out with you. I wish I had more cars so I could get more clusters from him!

Hey DaFlyinSkwirl Is that TACH still as delayed as the stock one?
if you suddenly rev the engine yes, but if you're in gear it's fine.
i have a digital aftermarket tach on my dash too in a gauge cup with a built in shift light, and the stock needle is always very accurate all the way to 7k
the only way to make it not match up is to suddenly mash the gas in neutral
..or if your car accelerates REALLY fast in first gear.. but even stil I don't really have any problems, and it makes shifting a lot easier.
That is sweet. PJ I really like yours. I was already looking into doing the 140 mph conversion, but I didn't know you could move the tac too! Does he require a core? I am assuming yes, and does that core need to be your cluster or is it one of those things you can send him after you have installed the new one?

nope no core. he ships you an entire cluster.
its a tad bit pricey for the center tach tho
Also, i remember alex saying something about it being a bit difficult to do so idk if he was going to make anymore.
So you don't even have to send him your origional, sweet. Well i shot him an email so we will see. I used yours as a kind of starting point, hope its ok.

Yeah for some reason it seems really delayed expecially in 1st and 2nd gear. But its fine in 3rd, 4th and 5th. LOL
And of course neutral really sucks..
Thats why i kindof want to make a custom cluster after im done doing my tutorial on how to do the lights on 02+.

heres mine just got them 2 days ago. black face with silver numbers.
140 conversions. I don't have any night pics cause my digi cam sucks at it. But I had Alex keep the same red/orange colors pontiac uses.
Wouldn't be able to show you mine. I've emailed them about 12 times and still no response. Guess they don't want my business.

alex is a great guy but he does get caught up in other things at times
yeah alex is awsome. i ordered mine back in july then the army decided to have me go do "other things" and they held onto my order until last week. then he sent it to me without any problems!

I had the same thing happen to me. Call him, he'll tell you the secret to gettin your gauges faster.
Alex gets swamped with custom requests, he honors the requests of people who put down a deposit or prepay over the phone more then those who shoot him an email and say I want gauges. He feels if you pay him, you are seriously interested, he doesn't want to waste time and then someone turns around and says no. Trust me, call him. I had mine in 2 weeks after our phone convo and design changes through email.
