Hey guys i fiberglass my door panel on my 2 door Z to fit a 6.5 speaker and i am having alot of problems getting it to stay on the door, i bought news lil clip things that are all around the outside and used the door clips that are on the top of the door, it is pretty heavy due to the amount of resin that was used, how did you other guys get it to stay? Thanks

well....im not sure how it wouldnt stay on. on the top of the panel there is a lip that slides over the metal frame to hold from the top, then the plastic clips all the way around, and also screws..which would secure the bottom.

where is the issue you're running into?

i know i can hang my door panel on the door and let go and it will at least still hang there

that would lead me to believe the panel warped while the glass was curing. when i glass stock pieces, i always like to do as much as i can without removing the panel. this way it stays in the shape it needs to be the entire time and a much much less chance of warping.

im gonna guess you used bondo brand glass.....is that true?

bondo brand has a bad reputation of warping and shrinking durring curing time

lol yes sir and i removed it too so yea that may be my prob but im gonna grab some screws and see if that fixs the problem, i also took off the weather strip the slides next the window when it is rolled up and have not put that back on could that make a difference?

i dont think the weather strip would make too much of a difference, but ya never know. id definately try and screw it down. "should" solve your problem.

let us know how it goes. if it dosent work, im sure we can all come together and figure something out for ya....if ya can, grab a pic or 2

yea, i would say just screw it down... mine fit right up after glassing them with no problem, they need to be able to flex a lil bit in order to fit tight and like u said due to the amount of resin they cant flex too much... good luck, and try not to crack them!!

SOLD....

it sounds like you dont have the top fitted the the "notch" by the weather stripping, you have to "hang" it and then bolt it down
