DOORS?
Sunday, March 18, 2007 2:02 PM
I've got an 02' cavalier and when I take the door panels off, it takes me half an hour of playing with it to finally pop them back on...WHY? I know there's this lip that is at the very top of the door panel which sits on an extrusion on the door frame. That is by far the hardest thing to line up. Is there any easier way to put the stupid door panel on???? I think it might be because I have the window up, but that shouldn't make a difference. Anyone got any suggestions?

Not really... slip that upper part in, then fiddle with the panel until it slides into place.

It's a bit of a bitch, I'll admit that.

Roll the window down, fit the lip in the little bracket up top first, then deal with the white christmas tree connectors. Those by far are the toughest thing to get back on before you screw it back together.

Yea kind of figured that there's no easy way of getting it back on, I guess I'll just go out there and practice. j/k. I'll probably gather all the things I need and plan everything out that I"m going to do to each door in the future so I can hit everything at once and never have to remove the damn thing again. That, or I'll just take and leave the door panels off, hey less weight to deal with. Thanks guys.

Slip it in then pop the clips in. Shouldn't take more then the removal time to put back on. @!#$ even my grandma can do it in under a half hour.
