Hey I was just wanting to ask for some opinions on how a chrome E-Break and Shifter would look. the interior is gonna be Red and Blue/Black The Idea came from a chrome and black Shifter I saw in Walmart and then I saw this Sunfire

Also I want to know if my transmission is stock(2000 Cavalier 5 Speed Manual) Here's the best pic I have of the interior, showing the strange way the boot is set. It really doesn't matter to me if it's stock or not but I'd like to know.
it might be just me but i cant tell if your transmission is stock from the interior of your car. It does look like like your shift knob was changed out and the reverse lock lifter thingy was removed....Also it seems at one point someone wanted to remove the e-brake boot. As far as transmission it is a manual but cant tell if it is indeed stock.
sorry forgot to answer your initial question red blue/black and chrome.... i like the red and black color mix but (and this is just my opinion) chrome is too flashy. Unless you do a lot in chrome it wont look good( again my opinion).
imo you should never do more than 2 colors, it starts to look tacky if you do. id stick with either
1) red and blue
2) red and black
3) black and blue
Well I was thinking about painting the car dark blue with bright red graphics so I'd want to paint the interior the same color. Like my Ideas? I've looked at the Colors together and I like them but I don't think I could get the interior completely Blue and Red (Working on a very tight Budget and the more time I take on this car the longer untill I can drive it. I don't have my own car yet. This will be my first)
Sorry I'm kind of jumping around but The reason I think the Tranny was replaced is that the hole in the console looks larger and longer then I would think the Stock one would. Also, moving back to aesthetics, What it I was to do the entire piece around the CD player and gauges in chrome, Or should I just forget the chrome and do it like the exterior of my car? The last chrome piece I had in mine was the new handles I'm putting outside the car

I think it ether could give it a more modern edge if they were chrome... or make them look like Crap. Still haven't decided which it's leaning to. Any opinions are appreciated.
Well having adiffertn tranny wouldnt do anything to your shifter since its not rwd. The shifter is remotely mounted if you want to call it that. Now to fix your problem with the shifter..cut the shifter shaft off shorter. As for chrome and black..ect.....imo..ugly but its your car.
or buy a short shifter... the problem with the boot is it is probably broken (the plastic ring on the inside) so it is not sitting up above the hole. Yeah my cavalier has the huge gaping hole too, if you want to replace the boot don't get a universal they suck(maybe how the ring got broken in the first place?)
