so i wanted to do a fiberglass dash with the gauges in the center. but our gauges look like they came outa an economy car or some crap. lol
so i was wondering, what other cars have gauges that run at the same frequencey, etc. im no gauge expert for sure, the only thing i know about gauges is from reading about the 3400 swap.
mines an '03 btw. fitment is not an issue.
i just dont want aftermarket gauges cause i think thats to typical in showcars. i want REAL custom work.
Listen F***ers. FASTERTHANAHONDA is a joke because I WORK FOR HONDA. I'll talk @!#$ about Fords to, that doesn't mean I can beat a 12 second mustang.
none. you can run aftermarket gauges, but good luck trying to run them off the stock wiring harness. wont happen

plenty of people have done after market gauges.
to the OP - in theory you can make anything work. just depends on your level of dedication, your time frame and money. and FYI, adding individual aftermarket gauges would require more "REAL custom work" then just slapping in some random stock setup. especially if you plan on glassing a new dash.
my question for you would be.....do you know how to glass yet? your profile leads me to believe not

i dont know how high he holds his car but last time i checked cavaliers and sunfires are economy cars and made with crap.
i guess what i ment by "real cutom work" is i want something different. i helped a buddy glass his dor panels. i used the sticky to help. it wasnt to hard. and aftermarket gauges need 1. a flat surface the size of the gauge. 2. a cuple of drill bits. it'd be WAY different to see like some soltice gauges or something. with leds and a different face. i was thinking about that. same motor. same enough ecu? anyone know about that one?

You can go much more custom than that with aftermarket gauges..... sure you could just slap them in there...... but use some pvc piping and fiberglass and get creative...... ive seen some of the nicest gauge setups going that route..... and it can still look like a factory setup if you keep the bezel holding the gauges a factory color
I'm going this route when i finally get the new motor in....... im good at customizing things, and if you have noticed, my interior is modified but kept a factory look... except for the rollbar

not even close
from what i gather, the solstice uses a direct injection motor, maybe thats only the gxp......... but either way.... you are not going to get those gauges to work in a cavalier... im sorry
but hell if by chance you can through some miracle engineering and awesome electrician skills, ill come shake your hand
theres a reason no ones seen gauges out of another car in our cars
