Anyone else have this problem with their 3rd Gen Cavalier? 2 weeks ago, the green LEDs on a portion of the radio went out. These are the lights that go on when you turn on your headlights. Now today, the lights for the automatic PRNDL lever went out. What gives? I tapped on the console and eventually the lights came back. So I figure, what the hey, let me try the same on the radio. After a few HARD smacks on the radio, all the lights lit up again. Are the LEDs really that cheap? The car has been outside for 2 non-consecutive days when it was only like 18F out, but today when the console lights went out, it was 35, and has been "warm" for a couple of days.
Does anyone have an explanation?
No one has an explanation on the radio lights? I did find another thread on the shifter lights. The shifter lights finally went out for good now it seems. Any kind of hitting/tapping, etc does not bring it back on. Guess I'll have to replace that when it gets warmer out. So far, knock on wood, the radio lights are still working, but who knows if they're stay that way. Does anyone know if the lights are replaceable in the stock radio, if need be?
The lights under my PRNDL went out too, it's so annoying.
The radio bulbs are not LED's they are regular bulbs or lamps that you find in any car. Same with the PRND ones.
They are hard to find and aren't something you can just buy at any auto parts store,
