i work at a volvo dealer, this came in today. none of us can figure out any explanation how in the hell this customer shredded the tire this bad...cept she blew it out, and drove it for...oh...50 miles!
thought some of you guys would get a kick out of it. sorry for the quality, its from my cameraphone.

I've seen worse, customer had a flat and kept driveing on it for way to long, the tire shredded and the blets turned into whips... it tore up an engine wiring harness, a headlight assembly, fender, wheel, the tire obviously, headlight wiring harness and an ABS control module.... her insurance company piad $5,000+ for the damages.. I have a pic on my phone of the wheel/tire but not the car... anyone know how to get a pic of a Nextel i860?
nextel sucks, sorry your f*cked bro.
the bumper bracket was shot, wheel well has to be replaced, and the strut has to be replaced from the thing whippin around too.

i saw a person in a brand new CTS , and the right rear tire was extremly low
i bet it looked like that a hour or so later , LOL

I don't know what you all are talking about.. there's plenty of tread left on that tire. For instance, look by the crack.. there's at least 1/4 inch of tread laying next to the rim..

I'm a female and I will be the first to admit that there are some girls that are just too airheaded to handle a vehicle.
not just women, its the illegal mexicans, the SUV drivers, and the idiots who do their make up or talk on the phone. they are the problems. and the ones who impede traffic in the left lane. HATE those punks.
but anyway, those tires had ZERO tread that we could see, all we saw was flat rubber. the technician had to take an angle grinder to what was left to get it off the rim. oh, and the rim was completely pristine, only lord knows how!!

good thing the rims ok . i had a costomer that did that with a S60R last week.
shreded both front tires.had to replace both rims. what dealer do you work at?
georgetown volvo of smithtown, NY. dealer 3323. i, along with only one other guy work in parts, while i pick up knowledge and become a mechanic. i need to work in parts for awhile so i can get my inspector's liscence.
