I cleaned the car up a little and shot a few pictures with my cars favorite hat. The mirrors are still not complete. I am trying to make them as quiet as possible on the freeway and a little more testing is necessary to figure out the best way to do that. So far the noise has been decreased a whole bunch, its almost completely gone. The triangle pieces will eventually be black. Yes thats duct tape across the top edge, no its not permanent
And for those who have not seen the grill cover and the extended air dam check out these pictures. I need to spray another coat of paint then color sand and buff the cover still.
Heres another of the unfinished mirror.

i like the smoothie look of the car. i know that you got some flack about the fog light holes before, but i think that it would both look better and flow the air better if they were filled in as well. that is just my .2
You selling your fog lights? Lemme know.
I like how the car looks with that plate in front. Sure you can argue about the whole air flow thing... and all that.
But hey. I think it's pretty cool looking.
lip looks the same height as stock to me
other than the slits being cut out
looks good , but also looks like its still a work in progress (not hating , just commenting)
it's a start, i'd fiberglass the mirrors on.
and you are now brandon schmidt's hero. lol
j
stick the fog lights back in there
i like it....even with the hat...
im the fastest pizza boy in the west..lol
Finally got that fake purge figured out, eh?
Got FAKE Purge???bah hahahahaha
I like where you're going with this car.. The front cover doesnt look bad, and will look better once you get the final touches of paint on it.
The air ducts don't look bad either, but I think they need molded so that they flow alot better and are smooth.
Still debating on whether or not I like the mirrors.
Props for a hella nice cav though. It's the nicest pizza delivery car i've ever seen.
cover doesn't look too bad, but I would worry about overheating.
And the motorcycle mirrors, umm. maybe the stocks would be quieter.

^^hilarious...now thats some serious pizza delivery!! You have me beat there I suppose.
Yes the car is a work in progress. The motorcycle mirrors are WAY quieter than stock. I can only hear a little wind noise when I lean forward and listen near the A pillar on the freeway at 80 mph, next time you are on the freeway listen to the tornado that the stock mirrors produce. I think I can eliminate this completely by shimming the mirrors slightly and finishing the triangle pieces.
I like my grill cover and for all who havent read my other posts, I covered the grill and extended the air dam(black plastic piece that hangs down and directs air to the radiator) a la camaro or corvette. It now runs one mark cooler than stock all the time. It heats up a couple marks if I leave it idleing for a while but if I turn on the AC the fan kicks on and cools it right down. It runs cooler than stock under all moving conditions on the road, I havent driven it in 115 degree phoenix weather yet but I have no doubts that it will work great.
The front still is going to have the fog light plastic cut out and ducts run to the brakes, and I am going to block all the holes on the stock lip from the back and build a small splitter to help front traction on corners.
I plan to drive this car on the track some so the brake ducts and splitter will be useful, its amazing how much of a difference a little downforce(well really a little reduction in lift is more accurate) on the front makes in stability on the freeway. After I covered the grill the car was noticeably more stable on the freeway. I wasnt even expecting this, I just noticed a big difference.

Holy @!#$...
I make sandwiches..... haha....
Does that mean sandwiches are faster than pizzas?
There was a guy in a civic with a fake nitrous purge system at Qualcomm the other day. I think last week.
Looked cool up close.
Looked cooler in my rear view mirror.
On another note...
I am strangely attracted to the stock blue of your car Dennis... I wonder why. I like my silver car and all but just something about that shade of blue.. But yeah. You don't have to use the stock foglights, but stick something in there that fills it up pretty nicely. I just can't help staring at those gaping holes. Fog lights por favor...
maybe plastic inserts painted blue also? Give that any thought?
Either way. I'm a big fan of body-kitless cavaliers. I went through that stage where "Oh wow bodykits are teh sexxxx!" and then I realized "You know, I like the way my car looks now...."
