GUESS WHAT IT WORKS!

Just installed a 60mm bored throttle body, noticed some loss in mid range and gain in top in, well today I found out there is more gain after the limiter. The car continues to make good power up to 7k. Now I can shift at readline on the track without worrying about hitting the limiter. I won't go more with that, but I do have 2 more motors in the garage

Next step is to get the bung welded in for my wideband.

FUN FUN FUN!!!

Going past that RPM limiter for the first time is pure sex!

thats what I thought... I figured even with top-end power adders (header, exhaust, intake, TB) the powerband would peak at 6k-ish at most...

2 bar map would be good, 3 bar map would be even better. Maybe enough better for me to consider ditching the megasquirt for it?!?! Maybe, but it's good to see that a company actually came through for us.

the ecotec engine as a whole can take 8500 rpms... during the severe testing comp cams oes they noticed and were amazed at the fact that a bone stock ecotec motor with cams (5 different grinds) never failed once after hours of high rpms testing for the cams... DONT WORRY

as far as losing power at high rpms, the ecotec does lose power after 6000 unless you have cams... having bolt ons the ecotec holds the power more steadily too the 6500 stock limiter, being an avid NA ecotec person myself (every mod done except head and high cr) the only problem I ever had not being able to break 160 whp NA was the fact I could NOT go past 6500 rpms and tune some fuel and timing if I had the hp tuners back when I was NA I would have seen a lot more power...

good luck and get some cams and make some NICE top end power!!!!
