I like the design, but figured they could use a change, so being my car is red, I decided it would look pretty mean if I painted them black. I thought to use aircraft carrier remover to remove the stock finish. This was probably my biggest mistake. That stuff is insane and it took me probably two hours of me and my friend scraping and sanding the wheels to get all of the stock finish off. Even then, probably only 98% of it was off, there were a few spots I couldn't get. So on went three coats of primer (even did the inside of the wheel). That took about two days. Then three coats of black gloss paint (not that stupid greyish black "wheelpaint" you get from autozone, I hate that @!#$). That took another two days to apply and dry, ect. Then last night and today I threw on two coats of clear. Also did the centercaps seperately. Left the tires on throughout this whole process. All in all, i'd say it looks pretty @!#$ good for a first time. Don't know if I regret using that aircraft remover @!#$ because I know it was done right now and won't chip for a good long time if it eve ndoes end up chipping. For about $50 in materials, I'm pretty happy. Pics don't really do them justice, but let me know what you guys think. Just washed them.

Did you sand and primer those?
If not, it'll look terrible in a couple months MAYBE weeks of abuse! Just going by an experience and seeing multiple do it the wrong way the first time out!
