well the suspense on wanting to hear these subs was killin me. I put the headunit in and put the subs and amp in. All I have to say is wow, in my opinion they blow the type r's away they're a lot cleaner sounding.

Cerwin Vega? Never heard em, but they look perdy

Cerwin Vega has prolly been around as long or if not longer than alpine. I figured that alot of people didn't know what they were. They're a very nice sub for the price.

thats a temp till my alpine gets ordered. It's not bad but I gotta send it back to pioneer and see what the deal is with it radomly turning itself off. I think that it's got a bad contact to the face plate cause sometimes you have to wiggle it to make it come on.

I thought everyone knew what Cerwin Vega was...they have been around forever. I have a set of Floor Speakers down in the basement from them.


Nice system, but I have a hard time believing they are louder than the type r's. I have the type R's and I have used the Vega's

I think to me that they're more capable of being louder and cleaner than the type r's

my first subs were vegas

then i downgraded, upgraded, and now i'm at pioneer

haha, I'm enjoying them, it's just that they are so stiff right now, I was just outside in my backyard and had them pounding for a lil while trying to loosen them up some. I think that they're gonna need to be in a ported box though. Right now they're hitting at alot higher frequencies then any of my other subs.

yea I just want to get these things broke it. they're so stiff right now and don't really move that much. So it can pick up some of the lower notes yet.

It doesn't rattle that bad, ive got the amp and all turned down to break em in and loosen them up some.

little advise... buy some nicer signal cables, and get at least 12awg speaker wire and ur subs will sound even BETTER.

i remember the old school cerwin vega STROKER 18's... them bad boys were LOUD!

cerwin vega has been making good stuff since i was too young to remember. maye longer. nice choice. im upgrading my setup too but im going from 2 12s to one but better quality. just picked up an L5 in a sealed box for $100

How long does everyone think it will take for them to loosen up some? They're very stiff right now and wont get some of the lower bass notes yet.
