Looking back over the years, I have gone through three cars (all j-bodies) and we've added to our little collection here at home (98 Z24, 99 Z24, 01 Z24, 89 Z24, 05 Fire and 02 Cav 2.2). I thought to myself, I wonder if I even have pics of all these cars ... actually I did and a few shots of the progrssion of my own 2001 Cavy nicknamed the "Cavalier SS" ....
So here's where it all began ....
My 1999 red Z24 (bottom pic), bought new two days after my grad from highschool (saved for it for 5 years). She was a great car, until one day when I decided to street race. It cost me my first car and almost my life - never again!! Then I went out and bought a new Z24 two weeks after the crash.
Top pic is from 2004 a week before the last Don Howson show. Back then, she only had a WW lip kit and the 03 Chrome Rims and vibrant muffler. another pic of her at Howson:
From there, I decided that she needed to have a lot more and so after 6 years of owning the car, the fun really began .....
In 2005, I bid goodbye to winter driving and scored me a third j-body, my new beater ....
At this point, my dad seeing how nicely I molded my car, wanted one for himself. And so came the 89 Z24 ... check out that crazy mileage :icon_eek:
Then in 2006, the car almost came to its final state ... a pic from the bash:
Now, looking over the years, I have really spent so much time and effort with j-bodies that I really can't believe it. It took me over 5 years to figure out exactly what I wanted my car to be and today I think I've finally achieved it ... although she still has a few things to finish up. 2007 will be the finale to an almost decade long project starting with my 1999 and ending with my fully finished 2001. Hopefully she'll be as sleek and fast as I envisioned.
Nice car. Glad to see some z24 love. Do you have any pics of your engine bay you could post? I am trying to get some ideas for the engine bay for both my 2001 and 2002 z24.
