its cut polished. cut polishing usually involves polishing the car with an abrasive compound rather than your normal car wax.
a cut polish, when done right comes out looking very very nice, like the pictures above.

the article also does a good job explaining the hazards of it all too... if you go at it too much, you will ruin your clearcoat base... NOT GOOD!
this process is like wet sanding your car to bring back the shine, when done right it looks awsome, but it is doing it right that is the hard part.

^^^ what he said. and its why I paid someone to do it. Cost $240cdn and took 7-8 hours.
I haven't had a whole lot of time to be messing with cars this year, and if someone came along with a reasonable offer, it'd have a new home. Waiting on the new fuel system which hopefully will be done by the end of july and cage install and the car is done for required stuff to make 11s happen.
