Well, I was looking for a long time for wheels for my car. I was looking alot at Konig wheels, since one of my friends has a discount, but anytime I like a wheel, I start to see it everywhere. I decided I want something a little more original. So I decided on some GTZ wheels. As far as ive seen, ive never seen a fire with GTZ wheels professionaly re-finnished.
There were some GTZ wheels for sale about 6 hours away from me, so I drove down and bought 4 for 250$. Then I sent them to a wheel shop to be stripped, machined, and powder coated "mirror black" with a polished lip. I think they turned out well.
They are a nice wheel if you get them re-finnished propperly.... no spray bomb here!
By the way, I have lowering springs going on next week........

Looks good, time for wider tires!
GTZ wheels look good on almost any small FWD GM I think.
I had a set of white ones I wanted to refinish, but they got jacked. WTF

oh for the love of god why?! they are so retarded looking... GM will burn in hell for the creation of the 'bermuda triangle' Z26 wheel.
i love the GTZ wheels on your car gameover... simply awesome on there. question.. how did the powdercoater boys tape off the polished lip? ive been wondering this myself. great job on actually doing the rims the RIGHT way. props to you!
PS... DAYYYYM... yes enter her in hotbodies

It was a little on the expensive side, it was 150$ a wheel, That was to strip them, machine the lip, and powder coat them inside and out.
I didnt shop around because the shop has a great rep and I wanted them fast.

The tires came with the wheels and still have about 75% of the tread left.
So these are 205/55/16s, how would those tires you suggested look?

$150.00 a wheel?!!?!???! WOW! idk if i could justify that for a set of stock wheels... you can get such nicer wheels for way less than that. not saying they dont look good... but damn, $950.00?! (yes,i can add...powdercoating service+cost of rims+gas for the 6 hr drive 150X4=600+250+100=950) theres a place local to me that powdercoats wheels for $25.00 each. turnaround time is usually a month.
they did do one hell of a job though.

the 225/50's are wider and the same basic height
if you see a 99-05 grand am GT , they have 225/50/16's stock on 6.5 wide wheels
they might have been a little higher price wise , but a nice investment in originality

But, if that's exactly what you want, then it was worth it for you.
As for the tire size, the 205/55/16 is the right size for our cars. Some guys do put 225/50's on, but I'm not sure how well they work on a factory rim. I'm guessing that those are 6" width, as most GM FWD 16's are, so 225/50's would probably bulge too much on them.
they should be 7" wide
as i mentioned above the grand am's used a 6 1/2" wide
ive got 225/50/16's on the stock ls sport wheels which are 6" wide , and they buldge a little , but dont take away from ride or handling at all
look great man, i think i like them more than regular z-wheels put on
I like em'.I always liked the original burgendy color of those rims. And yes more pics of the wifey!J/K

Your right..... It was a little expensive but I didnt want to cut corners on getting them re-finnished and I wanted something original.
I can afford any wheel I want but I thought these would look nice. Plus I wanted a GTZ back in the day, now you cant get one in good shape.

very nice looking and original, i like it
BIKER COPS CAN BE SUCH D!CKS AT TIMES (X2)
I've wanted these for a while
i really like them...i think it would look even better with some tire shine
I had a set from the local U-Wrench-It, years had taken it's toll on them though and decided I didn't want to invest in refinishing them.
Glad to see you went with through with it though! They look great. Always loved that style.

I say, money well spent.
