New Tires for the Cavy
Tuesday, January 22, 2008 6:38 PM
Finally got a chance to get some summer only tires for the Cavy this year!! After searching for a few weeks I decided on these bad boys!!

Had Falken 512s on here for the last couple years...all seasons since I drove her everyday. Well...after getting another car I can go summer only now that the Falkens are getting worn...

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

I myself am considering those tires. It is between those and the kdw's. They sell both in the size I want at tirerack.com

I looked at the KDWs first as well but after looking at the test results from TireRack, I picked these. Mainly due to the wet weather traction they had over the KDWs.

The KDWs didn't fair to well in that test and these were rated higher in dry traction as well as tread life.

Chekc it out on TireRack and then seen...they are a little more (about $25 a tire in my size) but well worth it I think!

Thanks guys and gals for the comments too...they aren't on the car yet but I'm excited to see how they perform!

could you get some shots of the sidewall?

im really considering getting these as well, they would be the exact same size you have. i have dunlop's on my 17's now and love them, but hate how much larger the number size of the sidewall is as compared to other tire brands with the same number but have less sidewall. (my sidewall seems taller then other tires with the same number size and i hate it, i want lower profile) (im getting new rims as well, 18's)

oh yeah, are they Z rated? i noticed it didnt have the ZR18....
