Shaved and flared

Shaved = sexy. Red primer...? Hmm, maybe not. But it is finally one colour.

The shave list..
-Type-J rear into quarters
-Rear fender flares into bumper, quarters, skirt
-Shaved Razzi Skirts
-Front fender flares into skirt, front fender
-BC2 front shaved into fender
-Shaved antenna
-Shaved door moldings

Door popper kit is on order then say bye-bye to door locks and handles.. other then that, I'm close to paint. So what do you think?

Looks like a mis-aligned hood, not eyelids...

Nice progress, I assume you picked up the type-j rear from ebay? The fiberglass one? Looks good.

Lookin' good man! Can't wait to see it completely shaved.

lookin nice and smooth.

what paint are you going with? i really liked that chalk paint idea and color.

you should really think about shaving that gas door while youre at it. its not too much work to relocated it to the trunk.

good luck with it all.

coming back in 2008...

My guess would be that the hood isn't in it's proper position in those pics, hence it's appearance of not lining up properly. I'm thinking it's a flip-forward style now, and it's not latched down. I don't usually care for the "widebody" style but I like the subtlety of those wheel arches, tastefully done. Nice work.

The hood is spaced in the back drifter style, to help pull hot air out of the engine compartment. Not my style but it does look ok. As far as the eyelids if thats what they are it just looks like the hood is pushed too far foward. If thats what it is put the hood back where its supposed to be and just space the back if you must. If they are eyelids then extend them on to the corners and it would look way better!

Overall looks very good!

I'm with you, looks like the hood would plip forward. Nice work on molding everything. What color is the car going to be?

That's what he said before, and I promise there is no gain in his case but to each his own. I guess some people think having mis-aligned body panels is cool for a 2 degree decrease in engine bay temps and that JDM look so be it.

Definately looking good, but stupid @!#$ like that kills it.

Thanks for the compliments, its been a busy past week filling and shaving to get the lines right. Finally I can say I have something to show for it.

-The gas door stays, I'm making a custom smoked plexi one to add a little touch.
-I'm going to correct the eyelids on the dropped forward hood by adding TRD style eyebrows, custom trimmed. If I add to the fender I'll no longer be able to get the headlights out, so thats a no-go.
-Hood positioning stays as is. The fender-to-hood seam will be backlit by LED, as will many areas of the car when done
-As for hood, I'm looking into the Scoote2 hood by FRP to add more bite to the front end
-The trunk lid will be heavily modified externally when I get a donor trunk, until then the smooth one with my drop-back Z24 spoiler (not pictured) will have to do

As for colour, hahaha, wellllll... I do alot of what I do to piss off other subtle tuners. If its not obnoxiously bright then I'm not interested. That being said, the colour combo will be hot pink with black trunk/roof/hood as I've had it painted before. Plenty of vinyl graphics, still Sonic the Hedgehog themed.

I'm also looking to get 19s in the rear, same wheels with more lip.

(btw, I expect complete flack from the crew here on JBO for my colour choice, so you'd be hard pressed to convince me otherwise on the colour combo.. haha)

1. hope you never boost or have to get behind that front bumper
2. worst side skirts for a cav ever
3.Hood tipped forward for no apparent reason.... retarded because it does nothing but look completely out of place, fits like crap, and does nothing for our cars...
4.color.... glad its your car, not mine
5. vinyl.... thumbs down...
6. sonic... thumbs down...

again, glad its your car and not mine. id never be caught driving something like that and not feel embarrassed.

All that molding and you leave the door handles and gas door........?

That hood thing just kills the clean look....FIX IT!

Sonic vinyl.... yeah I saw a 2dr Accord yesterday that had Sonic the hedgehog stickers all over it... one of the gayest things I've seen in a while.

you do all that work with molding and body work but yet you leave the locks on the doors..something if you have keyless entry you never use anyways? or the more i think about it you do THAT MUCH molding ...why not complete the look with completely shaved doors with no handles? these are the things that always mind boggle me?

Re: Shaved and flared

^^ he said in his original post that the door popper kit was ordered and once he gets it, he's shaving the doors.

looks good right now, but the hood being pushed so far forward ruins the entire car.

also, color choice. wtf dude? your making your car look stupid to piss off other modders? yeah thats pretty mature.

i agree with zyaaaa, the work looks good, as long as you continue those eyelids to the fenders

I love how subtle it is....sucks you can't carry the eyelids into the fenders, but its not a deal breaker props
