ok guys, well i am getting ready to go out and wash the car, i picked up a cannon rebel xt yesterday. spent most of the day charging the battery, but i got to play with it a bit. i got these 2 shots i liked.... still playing around, just trying to get a feel for the camera. if anyone has any suggestions on settings and stuff to try, i am getting ready to go wash the car, then out for a BUNCH of photos....
heres the 2 i like so far...
and just because i am excited this is what will be on my way soon....
Looking good!
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
i like the pics and congrats on the new cam...but how does 2 pics = a lot!!?!
but technicalities aside... quality looks nice!
will be alot.... i am getting ready to wash the car, and then go for a night with the camera
car looks great i like the second one but the ford ruins it
the second one would be sweet if the ford wasnt there and you had all the trees and bushes blurred but the car nice and shiney with no sun glare
where did you get the custom gauge face like that at?
the gauge cluster will be from black cat customs. its a while cluster replacement... (140mph conversion) the ford is the beater. it was free... so i cant complain... and i gotta figure out how to "select" my focus point.... i tried to do what i read... i either read it wrong, or was doing something wrong...
I'm not really liking the focus points on the pics...
car looks good though...
yeah... i gotta figure out how to change the focus points....
u got a nice camera, u seriously need to get the car painted already! thats the reason its off the focus...
what camera is it? and the best thing to do is just play around w/ it mess w/ the settings and you'll figure it out and learn the camera better. sit in a chair. take pics of one object and compare.
That HO mani looks real good!!

Button on the far right chooses your focus point. Are you using Auto focus or manual focus with the lens?
I picked up an XTi on saturday
Finally... lol But however with that being said, you will find this site here VERY helpful with learning, hints etc. It's a msg board thats been a very big help to me.

The picture of me makes me look like a midget
LOL, The shots I took didnt turn out half bad
, and the rolling shots look halfway decent too, course they were in the daylight so the camera could focus better
.

well taking some progress pictures i found 2 more i am very impressed of... tell me what you think....
and yes, as you can tell from these 2 photos i finally figured out how to change the focus point.... it just doesnt alot the "changing" of the focus point in the non-creative settings. thus the issue....
Just use manual focus, it's pretty easy!

Just get good with ur non creative settings and you'll see you never need them
lol I very very very rarely use the creative settings but then again I went an entire year using all the manual settings on my last point and shoot to get good at it.
Still some good pics tho are u using a tripod ?
auto settings and focus points own you hard. Don't be afraid to move the camera after it has focused on something, you might find that you will focus more on what you want than you originally thought. Also, changing your ISO speeds will help with night shots. Don't rely on the camera to compensate for @!#$ty lighting. Proper cropping is your friend.
Get yourself a tripod, and your night pictures will improve 100000x
