I got this done about a month ago, and finally got some pics of it. JL Audio 12W6 and JL amp 250/1. I couldn't be happier with it. Tested it out the other day and got 133db out of 1 12. My friend owns the local stereo shop and he did all of the install work, I just ran the wires and watched.
Thanks for looking!
Clean and simple. Looks nice!
sweet.
i need somethin new myself....
i've be worried if you ever used the trunk to carry anything. looks really good tho.

one of the better installs Ive seen on here.. and def get a grill if you plan on using the trunk
install looks great but that sub would love at the very least double the power you are giving it
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Most definitely. I've got two of the 12w6v2's and am pushing 1000watts RMS to them (500 each). I have never been happier!

Props on the work!
looks like a very nice, clean install.
wow, that is pretty much exactly what i plan on doing to my trunk minus the amp showing. i just want to see the speaker...
looks amazing.
Woww..really, really clean..props!
Nice. Super clean.
Is that sitting directly on the trunk floor or is it raised up a little bit?

Thanks for all the compliments! I actually have one of the JL grills, I just don't have it on there unless there is something in the trunk. I am sure that it could handle a lot of power but I told my buddy to put in whatever he thought I would be happy with. He said that the sub will be just fine with this amp. I was going more for a nice clean install over trying to blow my windows out. Yes it is sealed the box is in the spare tire well, with the false floor on top of it. It did raise the floor up but not more than 2 or 3 inches.
Thanks!
yea wait till u throw somethin in ur trunk and freez up that sub haha but if u never use ur trunk it look nice

Its a very sturdy grill if you have ever seen one. It would take a lot to get through it and damage the sub.
To say I am very impressed with what this single 12 does would be a huge understatement. I had 3 10" kicker comp vr's in one of my old cars and this outperforms them easily and as stated above it could take a lot more power.
looks goo i love it but i would go with a 500/1 it make it a louder and still be clear because it is JL minus the different color carpet it looks nice
I really like your install.
Do you have any progress pics??

I would love to see what it looks like under, just to see how he built it and everything...
looks great, very similar to the plans i had at one point. nice job.
I know the carpet doesn't match perfect, we went through all the carpet he had and that was the closest. Its not as far off in person as it is in the pics though.
I do not have any progress pics. Its just basically a box in the spare tire well, with the boards cut out and laid on top of it. There are a couple legs on the bottom of the false floor to keep everything level.
Thanks!
Thta is a 12W3v3, IT IS NOT A 12W6v2. That is probably why it only is being powered by a 250/1
The W6v2's have a Dark Grey surround, the W3v3's ARE ALL BLACK like the one in the pic.
Also the W6v2's have a SILVER FRAME, not a rubber coated frame., So the W6V2's would have a ring of silver around the edge like my 13W6V2 has.
It is a GREAT looking Clean set up.
