2.5 inch exhaust installed

2.5" customtubes inc pipe, 2.5" in/out magnaflow cat, 2.5" in/out dynomax superturbo. Toughest part of the install was finding a coupler to mate the stock downpipe to the 2.5" pipe. you really need something with a 1 7/8" ID to 2.5" ID or OD, wich is tough to find at standard autoparts stores (trust me i walked about 10 miles during the install looking )

I used clamps at all the joints and there are no leaks, but i need to adjust fitment over the rear axle as the pipe is touching some heat shielding and making a nasty rattle. This was totally my bad, I didn't check it before clamping down and i think it will just rotate slightly and be fine. There is plenty of clearance over the axle. I'll post fitment pics and a sound clip once that is taken care off. Note the aweful bends and crunches in the stock pipe! PICS!!

The pipe was 180 shipped (150 + 30 shipping) from CTI, and the cat and muffler were a total of like 140 shipped from summitracing.com. I spent about 30 extra on an addition piece of 2.5" straight and clamps. So when all is said and done, I have a high flow cat and cat back for less than most 2.25" comercial catbacks like magnaflow, RKsport, thermal, vibrant, ect...

I did not get a header yet, it has the stock DP and manifold for now. Gotta think about a bolt on shorty vs getting a pacesetter and having a shop make the 2.5" dp.

I didn't want to post this clip because of the rattling on the heat shield. It is a little raspy at WOT ( floored it to 6krpm), but under normal driving and cruising its just deep and somewhat loud. Part of what you hear here is the rattling though. I love the gurggle when the RPM's drop

2.5" exhaust w/ heat shield rattle, warmed up

Better sound clip will come when i have the rattling worked out. I'll try to get a rev and driveby.

^^ I think CTI's smallest jig is 2.5".

At least that what they told me a while.

And you still have the option of getting a stainless up also.

Anyone notice over on e*ay, someone is selling l-performance/Bill's exhaust systems.

As said, CTI only offers 2.5" and 3". For now, I plan on an intake, comp stage 1 cams and some sort of header. Plus tuning to make full use of the cam. IMO, 2.5" doesn't hurt performance and there is a "noticeable" gain after ~4k rpm. The sound is also deeper with a larger diameter pipe, but that is not the only reason of course.

Im in the middle of adjusting the fitment, and it looks like I'm goin for another hanger just to get it tucked where I want w/o touching heat shielding. I'm an amature at this and the pics later will show it, but it kinda sags after the cat now that I positioned it to not rub. I'll get one of those strap deals that fits a clamp and screws to sheet metal and hopefully that will take care of it.

I'm guessing most of my problem is because I replaced the cat as well and had to fit an extra piece of pipe in the system and it just did not line up right initially.

Thanks for the comments guys.
