Getting the Itch again? Maybe?
Tuesday, October 28, 2008 6:55 PM
I always told myself that I would get back into cars once I had bought a house, got more education done, and until I was really on both feet. Well, lately I've really been looking at my situation and thinking about modding once again. My car is basically paid off. I have been looking for a newer car.. Scion tC or a used G35 Coupe. Then I got to thinking, I really don't want a high car payment at this point. I want to have some fun again and my GF keeps telling me to just go nuts on the cav but Idk I'm still reluctant to do it.

The only way I would really go for it is to pick up a newer nice car like a Grand Am GT something thats a comfortable daily driver and let the cav sit in my garage and work on it as time and money allowed. So I've been slowly looking for them.

Anyways, Since their are soo many new people on here now I thought I'd share my past work.

Smart decision on not buying a new car. The payments will set you back and you will never finish modding. Nice cavy...more performance I say!

GMR has got nothing on this

very nice cars for sure, I got to agree with the comment about a standard trans. I have seen many cavs and fires done up very well but they have the auto trans. I could never figure that one out myself, is it preference or just no desire to learn? Sorry I'm not attacking you, guess its just a question in general, cause I have always been curious about this!

Your exactly right I did start to gather some parts up last year, then i got smart and sold everything to buy a house

Now a year later things are looking better for me

As for doing the 5spd thing.. I have thought about it.. but i really don't care one way or the other its not going to make or break the deal...

Thanks guys

If I do actually go through with this... Youll be seeing a white version of the black Z plus more...

I've got 3 years of ideas I'd like to do...

I personally have decided you're a woman, and every month instead of your pussy bleeding you decide whether you do or not want to mod a J-body and share these pics with us over and over again of what "you've done".

Just observing.

Yea Joe I have gone back and forth and back and forth but thats me. The last time I got out of the scene was to buy a house... To me, buying a house is way more important then modding the car. But now that I have my own house, college is almost done, and everything else in my personal life is settling down I only makes sense to me. The cars paid off in a few months and I can go out and buy something decent for everyday with minimal payments.

When I look back on how I did the black one I had another car so it got to sit in the garage and I could work on it as I go. It was driven to shows and maybe a weekend or 2. I think thats why I had kept it for so long and did the amount of work I did. So the way I see it.. If im in that same situation again.. Why not take advantage of it?

I hear you on priorities, I'm trying the same thing, not going so great in my case though.

The best situation to be in when modding is to have two vehicles, so more power to you. Glad you took my post the right way, motivation !

look at the first picture and tell me that the car doesnt look sad from not enough loving! I truly admire getting your priorities straight before blowing money you might need in the future, but if your stable and have a little extra income why not? Also your girl is pretty cool for supporting the modding urge, some arent very supportive of it!
