Well the car had a few issues last year that were nothing major but i was enjoying driving the car too much to take it down for a week or so. needed brakes. wastegate was acting up, exhaust leak, clutch was up to 100K, trans was grinding, needed an alignment, needs a new tune. so i decided that first thing when its nice out, im taking care of the issues right away. also picked up a cf bowtie, hvac cover, and dimmer cover.
as for the brakes. well when i first got my 04, and upgraded the brakes i bought the regular hawk rotors and hps pads for about $250-260, when i just bought my hawk cryo treated rotors, and pads, it was $250 or so, could not pass up the price and the deal on them for sure. so here they are, upgrade number one.
the wastegate, well many issues here. i would hit 6.5 psi, then up to 9, then 12, then 15, then it would sound like the wastegate would open up and be back down to 6.5psi for a while. just was a pain. so that had to go. and i figure i have a tial BOV, why not just match a wasegate to it. my turbonetics had a 9psi spring in it and i ordered this one with the spring i wanted in it which is the 0.7 bar or 10.15 psi i think. figuring on losing a psi in the charge pipes. but hey they match.
the exhaust leak is from the manifold must be slightly tweaked and it leaks where the manifold and head meet up. so im going to get that planed and back down to straight i hope. new gasket and see what happens.
the main reason all that is being done is because the synchros in the trans are going, but i dont blame them for 60K hard beat miles. so Alex Richards is going to help me swap the internals of my f23 getrag with the internals of a saturn vue trans that i picked up and keep my fdr, or once we open mine up, just fix whats wrong with mine... we will see. so all the turbo stuff needs to go off and killing 10 birds with one boulder.
going to do the clutch well because i was at 100K and just figured im going to have the trans out so why not? its just a stock replacement because i love the repetitive engagement point. never changes no matter what i do to it and it took one hell of a 60K miles, 20K boosted. took it all and still had more.
needed an alignment for a while, just never got around to it. chewing up one tire and that is going to get fixed this year.
and i need a new tune because the car is running rich and i may be going with a set of turbo cams depending on the feedback i get from them.
looking forward to spring...
Very nice parts there.
Was it you that beat me to the CF bowtie?
dang you beat me to the cf cover w/ a/c! i got the last one just have to drill out. too bad it's the 2nd time i bought that piece (first time thru bluecavcustoms, that never shipped).
you have a lot goin there. good luck. pretty easy stuff.

Nice upgrades. 09's off to a good start
Let me know when you get that tial on
yeah i got the only cf bowtie that was left. its a back up for my car, or i might end up selling it, not sure.
also got the last hvac with ac haha. i snagged all that up
as for the more cf, they were cheap and wouldnt hurt to dress the car up some. not going to do any underhood cf at all, just the pieces you see there. unless my friend and i go through with making some cf stuff. which we are looking at making moulds in a few days.
and icemike, you get my pm?
and yeah i love new parts, no more used stuff haha.

very nice.
you still gonna do an engine rebuild as well?
Needing 2.3 oil pump stuff? PM me...
engine rebuild probably wont be this year, and if it is this year it will be at the end of the year or if something breaks.
and im going to keep the spare bowtie just incase. never know what might happen.
hope to do something a little different with the front bumper this year too. make it look a little different
thanks for the comments guys.
still debating the turbo cams....
That's a nice looking pile of parts
thanks. also forgot, custom hid headlights too when the car is getting all this stuff done. just have to mount the projectors, then send them off for a shroud, then send them off for a new mod
some know what that is. most dont
lovin the bowtie, if I had that front I'd def get one done in cf.

thats the starting plan, but i dont see it working out. too hard to get out of one piece if we do it ourself. and we are just learning. i wanted to cf the middle section up and around my fmic, but instead i think im just going to flat black it like the new evo's. i would love to cf it but for the amount of money to ship the bumper to someone, and to have it covered, would be insane, worth it but simply insane. and we all know only j people would notice and appreciate it haha.
nice parts... you'll like the brake set up alot ive got the same combo on my 97 and its awsome, well it wont be a HUGE difference in stopping power it is for sure a step up from the stockers...

i dont have stockers on there now. i already had the regular hawk powerslots and hps's, these are the cryo treated version of the powerslots with hps pads.
oh and now to add to the list is comp cams turbo grind cams... along with probably the GM racing valvetrain. still looking into which valve train to get. and i dont plan to fully rebuild the motor until next winter, this is enough on my plate for now.
Parts are looking good Vince, are you going to use the throw out bearing that is in the car now with the clutch or did it come with a new one?
came with a new one. all for $200. i was stoked!
and thanks guys.
Nice pile of parts Vince, you racing at the bash this year?
