Engine finally almost done!
Friday, September 11, 2009 8:14 PM
Well, back in March my engine finally had enough. It was a completly stock bottom end (only had minor port/polish) with 117K miles on it. It had been on nitrous for 5 years, and last year my husband built a rear mount turbo set up for me. It always ran great, but #2 piston finally blew apart. The car has been sitting since then. I have been wanting to drive it because Ryan bought me new Sparco's for my birthday and a week after they were installed the motor died. He finally got the new engine almost ready to go in. We had to repair the head (welded up damage from ringland bashing into it/looks like new now!) and put bigger valves and valvetrain in it. The bottom end is now all forged too. Ryan updated my mods list so you can check that out. Here are a few pics! Hope he can get it in the car soon, I really want to drive it!

Thanks for all the comments. Im so ready to have it back on the road.
John: His daily driver is an LD9 but we stuck with our 2200s. I wanted to be different and have a unique setup. Plus when the unknowing person pulls up to me on the road I just smile and leave 'em wondering, "Was that a Cavalier and a girl driving it?" LOL

Tell me you put a reground cam in there. A mild turbo regrind from anyone would be a great improvement.

I see it did not get mentioned in her registry... There is a cam in it. She got it a few years back and we never put in. I don't remember the specs off the top of my head (need to find the card/got sh!t scattered everywhere at the moment) but it was designed more for spray since that is what its had for years. It should do just fine though, as boost was in the future for it... You don't really think I would have gone through all this and forgot about one of the most important parts do ya!!!
