Check out what I just got on ebay for $30 with buy it now.....I think its a Stan's header from Bill's isuzu performance isnt it?
I was going to use a modified 4-2-1 2.3 manifold with the 2.4 flange and custom 2-1 section but this saves time and fabrication.
$30 bucks?!!?!? NO WAY!!!
you SUCK!
We all need somebody to believe in something...
I couldnt believe it myself. I jumped on it the second I saw it. I feel like I won the lotto or somthing lol.
holy crap. that IS a Bill & Stan's header, for what appears to be for a 99 +, no passage in the flange for the EGR, looks like so on the B&S header:
just to compare, no less than 2 months ago i paid 760 shipped for a brand new one. LOL. talk about a damn deal.
wow now I really feel lucky
I wouldnt sell mine for $30. Probably throw it in a dumpster when im done with it. Not worth the cost at all
lol clyde... you've always been the exception to the rule.
everybody else loves there's from what i can tell.

The quality of the ceramic coating sucks, the flex section it came with failed, hardware was a joke, never sealed right, ect...
looks like a redneck backyard special! that big mofo clamp looks like leak city!

If i remeber correctly these bad boys made more power on the dyno than any other header for our cars. redneck looking or not....if it gets the job done im game
just never seen that kind of header before. is that seriously the only way to attach the header to the down pipe?

Hahaha lmao

I believe new they came with a 3 bolt flange to connect the downpipe and even an optional test pipe to replace the cat if im not mistaken. the 4-2-1 design is awsome for midrange power where a 4-1 is more for top end power.

Supposely. Just like the 2.3 cams made 21 whp as well. We all know that is not right.
I think you got a good deal on it, but it needs some cleaning up. I would get it recoated.

True...I never actually saw any numbers, i just heard the reputation. Really I just wanted it for the 4-2-1 design since this setup will eventually go in the daily driver vert. Im not going for a monster just somthing fun to drive. The cams I have are for the midrange too as well as an old style 2.3 tubular intake with an enlarged plenum. really its just an experiment that im hoping works out.
Whats a good guestimate of how much it is to get it recoated?
Depends on your area. I have a guy near me that will do them for around $50. I have heard of it costing much more.

well all i know is paul put down 201whp with this header installed.

yup
thats what i got for $760. ceramic coated, it has a magnaflow 2.5" hi-flow cat with a 3 bolt flange with an O2 bung welded on to it. its a hand made, made to order, hand coated and polished piece. bill was a breeze to deal with, and he kept me in the loop with what was going on the entire time. based on customer service alone it was a good purchase. worth 760? probably not, but i'm happy with it. the beefy ball & socket joints look fine and the coating looks fantastic. my only point of concern is the flex pipe, but i'll just have to see how it all holds up.
iperformance does indeed have dyno charts
here and
here that were done independently by customers who were curious (although they are old). if theyre accurate then it's pretty impressive.

yea, the flex pipe and everything after is 2.5" on the one i have. looks like someone may have welded a smaller flex pipe onto the one you bought, but its hard to tell from the pic.
hell of a deal.
I too bought this header back in the day for 760$. I dont regret it. one time i had every bolt on for my z24 ( gm s/c) and it screamed.
the thing zsz i notice on yours is it doesnt have the down pipe supporter rod deal. Look at the new one pictured and you will see it by the flex pipe.
On the subframe there are two rods sticking out(why i dont know) . That where that support deal by the flexpipe hooks too with two rubber rectangles about 2 inchs by 3 inchs, i forget.. My 96 z24 didnt have it ( only year i seen that didnt have it, and i was under alot of j bodies) and i welded two rods in there and hooked it up. You can go by a auto parts store and find a exhuast hanger with rubber on it and lots of holes and cut a piece out of that and use that.
And them flange bolts you will need to tighten up from time to time. Never got too loose really, i just snugged them up here and there.
It is a nice header. Pricey yes, but there were debates on this header way back in the day.
another reason i bought bills header is that he seen my name on some debates on here and seen i was looking for a flywheel on ebay. He helped poineer a fidenza flywheel for these cars and said he had some of them he sent back as something hit the block and people sell them as refurbished ones on ebay but dont tell you.
He didnt have to tell me that, but he did. Good guy in my eyes.
