I dont have any pics of the door jam area, but all you do is screw them in on that lip of the jam. I did 3. One screw right beside fender in the door jam, one in the middle, and one at the end where the door closes.

ok, i'm just trying to avoid having to screw them in in the door sill, i saw theres double sided tape on them under the lip, i'm thiunking if i replace that and use the screws on the ends it should be alright no? or would you reccommend actually using screws

on my first car i had screws in each of the fender wells and double sided tape all the way across to keep them flush to the car, but after a while they started to separate from the body and fold under the car. So when I installed them on my 00z24 they where riveted into the door sills so they sit flush. It sucks to have to rivet or screw them in, but they really don't sit right if you don't. I hate seeing pictures of them on peoples cars and seeing them folding under the car.

oh ok, well i'm gonna try the double sided tape and screws on the fender wells then probably use some seam sealer too and see how that goes, if not i guess i'll have to break down and use screws, i'd like to have a smooth surface inside the door but you gotta do what you gotta do though

if anyone has pics of inside the doors or can get some i'd appreciate it either way

Don't use screws! There are only 2 screws you should use and that would be one in the front and one in the back. The tape you want to use is called 3M VHB tape. It's the strongest there is. Remember to use a surface prep to clean any areas the tape will contact. Prep-all or Acetone work good. Do not scrub with these solvents, just lightly wipe. If you use a heat gun on the tape to warm it up before you stick the skirts on it will promote even better adhesion. GL! Post pics b4 lock tho!

X2. No need to use anything but the tape if you do it right. I actually would *very lightly* scuff the surface with something like 1500 grit paper, and then do the wipe-down. Just like paint, adhesive sticks better to a rough surface than a smooth one.

If you do, use nothing more than like a 3M scotch-brite pad #7445 or if they don't have that a #7448 would work too.

Yea don't use screws, see what happens when you kick the skirt a couple hard times, that double sided tape will start to give. That was how I first attached my skirts, that quickly changed.

Screws are not necessary. My 3M VHB has held since July 2006. You must not have prepped the area well, or either that you used cheap tape. Side note....Don't kick your car either....

You haven't seen my car, I cheap out on nothing on it. Even tape. I stand by my claim. We all do it different.

I've probably seen every single one of your posts here in photos and media. I am very familiar with you car, and it is extremely well built...i agree with you on that. But as for using screws and putting unnecessary holes in the car...I guess on that part I will just agree to disagree.

That's odd. I haven't seen those on IF sides before. Looks like they just screw in like the Z side skirts to the bottom of the car. Most people just use self-tappers.

maybe a change in design?? maybe thats to adress the issue that homiej was talking about? it looks like those tabs would work well to stop them from "folding" under the car

yeah that would definately help the folding under issue, with those i don't think you would need to worry about using anything other then something like the 3m double sided tape to get them flush with the body of the car.
