THIS... is what a 6 hour detail looks like...

..... on a cell phone camera!!!! Since I got my Sunflower running 3 weeks ago, all I have been thinking about and wanting to do (well, besides the bigger turbo and re-tune) is shine it up!!! I just had the car completely repainted 2 weeks before it blew up in November of 2008, so the paint is still relatively new.

Beforehand, I sprayed it off with a pressure washer to blow off the 15 months worth of dust and crap that had accumulated. Then I hand washed it twice, used Mother's California Gold Claybar, and went over the entire car. After that, another gentle wash, and finally, 3 coats of super-duper top secret #1 awesome best ever wax!!! Questions and comments welcome.

What do you think??? P.S. I detailed the interior too, but we all know what a clean interior look like.

And finally the money shots. Gotta love it when your paint can double as a mirror!!!

P.P.S. I didn't use any tire shine on it because unless I am at a car show, I dont use it because it always slings, no matter the brand.

So true on that tire shine..........nothing more annoying than a clean car with spots all over it.

In that case, we all know what a stock looking Sunfire looks like too, but you still posted pics. LOL, JK JK. The car looks great

The only reason you would sling sh*t is if it's caked on. Then you get that sh*tty greasy tire look. When I apply I use an applicator sponge, and then use a microfiber to rub in in/take off the excess. It looks much better this way. Again, nice job on the detail!!

I've never had a problem... sounds like you put it on too thick and don't let it sit for long enough.

95-99 z's look great on there.

spray the tire shine with water and wipe with a rag after use to reduce sling.

Don't know what ya got til they take it away...

looks great.

Tire shine NEVER slings for me...Just apply it or spray it on depending on what style your using and then remove the excess with a microfiber cloth as stated before.

I apply mine with a sponge. It seems to conserve the shine and not run, or sling..

You should have left the bases of the mirrors black and you better put some caution tape around that muffler tip or else someone might trip over it .

It really doesn't stick out that much. It's the side perspective that makes it look like that. To look at the muffler in person it tucks under really nicely.

Pretty good actually!!! They handle decent and last really well. I'm stil on my first set with almost 15,000 miles on them.

Loving the car altho I'm somewhat biased having the same car and color just not quite as clean. I love those cavy wheels and I find they always look good but for some reason I don''t like them on your car. Just my opinion thats all.

No way man...those tips stick out way too far; they should be flush with the bumper or just a hair past it.
