seen this for sale for 1000$ Seems interesting, its auto though. would any of you guys conserding picking this up??
98 Sunfire
Considering the work done to it, the person selling it PROBABLY thought they were in the Fast & the Furious... so odds that the car has had a well-cared-for life, are slim to none. Given the price, it probably has high mileage, so it's probably had a long rough life and is full of mechanical problems to spill out. Hahaha. No I wouldn't buy it.
If I could get it for $800 (and if it was an
ECO), I'd buy it and immediately take it home and rip all that cheap plastic @!#$ off it. It wouldn't take much at all to put it back to stock and have a decent Sunfire GT. I've always loved the Flame Yellow color.
take all the @!#$ty stuff and yeah ist worth a look
Sig thanks to bxmobkrazey on gmscf.com
Aerodynamics FTW!
2010 Lonestar Bash 2nd place J-Body Street Class
Id buy it rip the stuff off and rock it as a winter car
13.1 @ 115
I would like the scoops if they were molded in and functional. All the rest of that crap needs to go. Kinda like the school bus color lol.
It could be salvaged.
2010 Honda Fit LX
i would take it, be a great dd while the trans is out of the 01..... plastic crap would be the first to go

I'd take the rims for a decent price lol
Yeah, that is def. not my taste, but I suppose it would be a decent beater with a motor swap, paint job, take off the plastic stuff, and put different bumpers on it, but that doesn't seem economically sound.. so no, probably not.

Just say "no" to stick-on mods
Check with lenko but my bet is it has an Ecotec. Yellow was first available in 2002 and I don't believe yellow was ever offered on a j-body with a 2.4L.
Could be either.. it's relatively rare though... of the 4,639 Pontiac Sunfire GT coupes made for the 2002 model year... there were 693 painted in that lovely yellow colour (paint code 43U).. 297 with the 2.4L Twin Cam (LD9) and 396 with the Ecotec.
I have no idea how always can find that stuff... That has impressed me about Lenko since like 2005 when I joined lol.

I'm a wealth of useless information... I was telling some guy at a wrecking yard about all the stuff I know about these J-body cars... and he's like, yeah, but they were discontinued in like 2005...
Wow, that hurt.
I need a new car

this !!!...always a wealth of knowledge....
back on topic...i would buy it just to save it, it could turnout pretty nice with the right owner
RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...
eww wondering if he rattle canned the window vents.
but still not a bad price if the mileage is decent like someone else said that yellow is pretty nice
it might be just me but doesnt the front bumper look like the person driving it before "tapped" another car? the very bottom of the bumper looks pretty wavy and looks like there is a flat spot just to the right of the front license plate holder. but for $1000 I guess you get what you pay for. def agree to get rid of all the plastic add-ons.

........you may know a bit too much for your own good.....
for a grand, I would buy it, and rock it as a winter beater, and store my vert
But deff loose the vents. The window rain guards would be replaced just because they look broken, and since I smoke, and live in Chicago, its nice to open a window and not get rained on. Too bad I cant get something like those for the vert tho lol. Oh, and I <3 Lenko too!!
