i heard that it is bad to have a turbo on a manual because u can blow s%@$ up. that a supercharger is better. i know a super has more power at the start but a turbo still spools up indepented of the rpms.
bottom line which is better
How much power do you want and what are you using it for?
depends what u want from it
supercharger is reliable good power but limitied and very $$$$$
turbo is alot more work but the gains are alot more
less reliable
really depends on what u want to get out of it
for turbo u really need to build the motor and need suporting fuel mods ect
i want the best bang for the buck. spend more time on the road then in the shop. and have enough hp to blow the doors off a ricer. or a mustang
what are u looking to do?

300 horse at the wheels, no baby bottle. that is on the street more then the shop. for very little green
300 horsepower won't blow the doors off a mustang, unless your just gonna race stock mustangs...

A 300hp cavalier will blow the doors off any mustang I know of, even the SVO's.
Hope you got a lot of money though, you aren't going to get 300hp for less than $8k or more.

really...... meh work in progress. what psi do supers max at??? or the ones for an ecotec.
superchargers arent expensive they only cost 2k i'm getting one soon, turbo kit cost 4k
wow, that depends on a lot. a typical T25, maybe 12psi, a T3 maybe 18psi, really depends on trim, checkout

vortec superchargers are nice too, typical systems run around $3,500 - 4,500
centrifugal superchargers can blow 25psi.
roots, eaton, twin screw chargers max out around 15 (usually)
With any kind of forced induction... If you miss a shift there is the change you will blow you engine. This can even happen in an auto just not that often.

funny, i've never heard of an auto missing a shift? lol

what is the highest psi that anybody heard of a ecotec taking with stock gaskets and stuff.
you can argue till your blue in the face about which is better they both have thier trade offs I think turbos do require a more knowledgeable person to maintain them

i know turbos have blow off vavles, the
piss sound. i know it maybe be pointless on a super but do they make them?
haha, the
piss sound. do you know what a BOV does though?
it vents, for lack of a better word, the excess compressed air off , so u don't blow anything up when u shift. that is what i am told. i like the sound, but i want the realible of the supercharger
superchargers have a a weeeEEEEE sound, much more satisfying
true, that sound is also more linked to a muscle car with a blower, so fun fun

hahahahaha lol that was the best description i ever heard.
i'm going with supercharger when GM comes out with it
